How It Works – Our 5-Step Process

  1. Measure & Gather Details
For dipped treatments, confirm the number of bunches and their sizes.
For on-site spraying, provide clear photos of the dried flower arrangements along with the total square metre (m²) coverage.

  2. Request Your Quote
Send the details by email or complete the Get Your Quote form. We’ll provide a quotation or request any further information required.

  3. Arrange Treatment
Arrange for the bunches to be sent to us, or schedule an appointment for on-site treatment where applicable.

  4. Fire Retardant Treatment
Bunches are treated and dried ready for collection, or on-site treatment is carried out as agreed.

  5. Certification Issued
Once payment is received, we issue the appropriate BS 5867 Part 2 Type B or BS 5852 Part 1 fire certificate, depending on the application.

Treatment Methods Explained

Pe-dipping:

Pre-dipping allows complete saturation of the material, making it easier to achieve uniform coverage. This method is particularly advantageous for delicate dried flower displays or arrangements that would be difficult to treat once installed, or where access limitations and protection of surrounding finishes present challenges.

Spraying:

Fire retardant spraying is an effective treatment method when carried out with sufficient care and attention to coverage. It is suitable for installed displays and situations where removal is not practical, but requires careful application to ensure all surfaces are treated evenly.

Fire Safety Standards for Dried Flowers

Our dried flower fire retardant treatments are certified to:

BS 5852
Ignition resistance (cigarette & match test)

BS 5867 Part 2 Type B
Flame retardancy for decorative elements

BS EN 13501-1 (Euroclass)
Applies to building linings, not decorative florals

This standard applies only to building materials such as cladding, wall panels, and ceilings.

These are the recognised standards for decorative textiles and floral displays in public venues. Widely accepted by fire officers, insurers, and venues as suitable evidence of compliance with Approved Document B.

Important

Dried flowers cannot be treated or certified to BS EN 13501-1 (Euroclass). In most cases, BS 5852 / BS 5867 certification is sufficient for weddings, events, hotels, restaurants, and similar venues.

Confirmation checklist:

Always confirm the required standard with your fire officer or building control if:

  • The installation is a large suspended frame, canopy, or ceiling feature

  • It covers a significant wall or ceiling area

  • The venue is a high-risk or high-occupancy space

  • The fire risk assessment explicitly references BS EN 13501-1

We always issue certification for the standards our treatments achieve. It remains the client’s responsibility to confirm acceptance for their specific project.
