Experience that informs every treatment

Understanding the material comes first

Adam began working in textile care at 16, learning how different fibres, constructions and finishes respond to moisture, cleaning and drying. Specialist fire retardant application training followed in 1990, creating a foundation that now supports work across curtains, fabrics, furnishings, props, decorative foliage and untreated timber.

That background matters because fire retardant treatment is not a one-product-fits-all process. Absorbency, existing finishes, colour, construction, location and the required standard all influence whether treatment is appropriate and how it should be applied.

“The useful answer is not always yes. We assess the material first, explain what the treatment can achieve and identify when sample testing or laboratory testing is the better route.”

Independent product selection

The treatment is chosen for the material—not the other way around

Fire Proofing Ltd is not tied to a single manufacturer. We choose the treatment according to the material, intended use and confirmed standard.

Where a building product or complete construction requires classification, we explain when laboratory testing is needed.

Experience across real projects
